In this first edition of Adventure Lab Spotlight we invite you on a scenic river tour in the German town of Bietigheim-Bissingen. The Lab, “SUP-Tour vom Viadukt zur Rommelmühle,” created by Rollercacher, guides adventurers in paddle boats or on stand-up paddle boards along the Enz River. This two-hour paddle tour highlighting impressive sights and beautiful views is a great fit for anyone craving both outdoor adventure and soothing scenery.

The adventure begins by paddling under the stately Bietigheim Viaduct. This viaduct is a railway bridge built in the mid 19th century and is one of the best known landmarks in Bietigheim-Bissingen. On sunny evenings, the reflection of the viaduct’s graceful arches in the cool waters of the Enz River provides an enchanting view.

The journey continues with stops along the river until ending at the Rommelmühle, a building that was originally a grain mill. Though the mill stopped operations in 1996, the building and its charming facade remain. Nowadays the building contains apartments, shops, offices, and a restaurant with an outdoor area that is tempting for anyone looking for a meal or refreshing drink before paddling back down the river.

Completing this Adventure Lab should take about two hours, but it could easily last longer if you take a break in between completing the Lab and paddling in the opposite direction to return to your starting place. The direction of the Adventure Lab goes against the river’s current, but the current is not especially strong so the paddling should still be manageable. This also means that on the return trip in the opposite direction you can sit back, relax, and let the current take you where you want to go.

New Adventures are added all the time. Have you downloaded the app and completed one? Share your most memorable Adventures in the comments!
