No one likes to wait for a party. However, due to continued uncertainties related to COVID-19, Geocaching HQ is planning to host the Geocaching 20th Anniversary Celebration sometime in July/August 2022. We will announce the new date as soon as possible.

We are very sorry for any inconvenience this postponement may cause. However, we feel this is the best path to welcoming the worldwide geocaching community to Seattle and the Pacific Northwest in a safe and responsible manner.

GeoWoodstock (GC86VDF) in Abbotsford, British Columbia and Going APE near Snoqualmie Pass, east of Seattle, are also postponed, and will now be held sometime in July/August 2022. Dates will be announced as soon as possible.

As we anticipate COVID-19 will impact many geocaching gatherings this year, we are happy to announce extensions of special activities related to geocaching’s 20th anniversary:

  • Find Signal the Frog® – Locationless in 2020 (GC8FR0G) is now available to find until December 31, 2022.
  • Community Celebration Events: We want to allow flexibility for hosts to schedule their Community Celebration Events, since this is a unique Event type. Event hosts are allowed to host these events until December 31, 2022.

Thanks so much for your continued patience and understanding. We will announce more details about the Geocaching 20th Anniversary Celebration as they become available.

Please also see the Geocaching HQ Updates page to learn more about how we are responding to COVID-19.
